Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Altus Labs for using Sarathi. We’ve written them in plain language, because an assistant that does real work for you should be just as clear about the rules. By using Sarathi, you agree to them.

The short version

A quick summary — it doesn’t replace the full terms below.

  • Sarathi does the running-around; you stay in command, and you’re responsible for what you ask it to do.
  • It’s an early, invite-only release — expect it to change and improve, and to have the odd rough edge.
  • AI can get things wrong. Check anything important before you rely on it.
  • Be fair: don’t use Sarathi to break the law, harm others, or abuse the service.
  • You can stop anytime — disconnect a service or delete your account whenever you want.

01Who you're agreeing with

Sarathi is operated by Altus Labs (“Sarathi”, “we”, “us”). These terms cover the Sarathi service — the website at getsarathi.com, onboarding and the dashboard, and the Sarathi assistant you talk to on WhatsApp. Sarathi is currently in an early, invitation-only release.

02What Sarathi is

Sarathi is a software assistant that helps you get things done — mostly over WhatsApp. It can read your schedule, set reminders, file and recall documents, and, when you ask, take actions in the services you connect. It is a tool, not a person, and it is not a substitute for professional advice (legal, financial, medical, or otherwise).

03Your account

  • You must be 18 or older and able to enter into this agreement.
  • Sarathi is passwordless. You sign in with your WhatsApp number and a one-time code. Keep your number — and your recovery email, if you add one — current, since they’re how you (and only you) get back in.
  • Your account is yours. Don’t share it, and let us know promptly if you think someone else has access to it. You’re responsible for activity that happens through your account.
  • One account per person; the service is for your own use, not for reselling.

04An early release, provided as-is

Sarathi is in active development. Features may change, be added, or be removed; the service may be interrupted for maintenance or by things outside our control; and occasionally something will not work as intended. During this period especially, Sarathi is provided “as is” — we’re building openly and improving quickly, and we appreciate your patience and feedback.

05Using Sarathi fairly

When you use Sarathi, you agree not to:

  • Use it for anything illegal, harmful, deceptive, or infringing on someone else’s rights.
  • Send spam or bulk unsolicited messages, or use Sarathi to harass or impersonate anyone.
  • Try to break, overload, probe, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service, or to get around its security or usage limits.
  • Only set reminders or schedule things for other people — for example, family members — with their knowledge and consent, and through the features Sarathi provides for it.
  • Upload content you don’t have the right to share, or that contains malware.

We may limit, suspend, or remove access to protect users or the service if these rules are broken.

06Actions Sarathi takes for you

Sarathi acts on your instructions. For anything consequential — sending a message, creating an invite, anything that spends money or can’t easily be undone — it asks first, and it records what it did in an activity log you can review. Even so, you’re responsible for the instructions you give and for reviewing important results, and AI can misunderstand (see section 08). By asking Sarathi to act in a connected service, you authorise it to do so on your behalf within the scope you granted.

07Services you connect

You can connect services like Google to Sarathi. Your use of those services stays governed by their own terms, and you’re responsible for having the right to connect the accounts you connect. Sarathi only uses the specific, scoped access you approve, and you can disconnect any service at any time from your dashboard.

08AI, and its limits

Sarathi uses AI models to understand you and to draft and take actions. AI can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date, and can occasionally misread a request. Please check anything important before you rely on it — dates, amounts, names, and anything with real-world consequences. Sarathi’s output is not professional advice, and you make the final call.

09Your content

Whatever you send Sarathi — your messages, files, and the things you ask it to remember — is yours. You grant us the limited permission needed to process and store that content in order to run the service for you (including sending the relevant part to our providers at the moment Sarathi acts, as described in the Privacy Policy). We don’t claim ownership of your content, and we don’t use it to train AI models.

10Privacy

How we handle your information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. Please read it — it explains what we collect, what we deliberately don’t do, and the controls you always keep.

11Fees

Sarathi is currently free to use during its early release. If we introduce paid plans, we’ll make the pricing clear and give you notice before any charge applies — you’ll never be billed by surprise.

12Our intellectual property

Sarathi — the software, the brand, the name, the look and feel — belongs to Altus Labs. We give you a personal, limited, non-transferable right to use the service under these terms. Please don’t copy, resell, or reverse-engineer it, or use our name or branding without permission.

13Suspending or ending access

You can stop using Sarathi at any time — disconnect any service, or delete your account entirely, from your dashboard. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, if it’s needed to protect users or the service, or if we stop offering the service. When your account ends, your right to use Sarathi stops, and we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

14Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sarathi is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, and we don’t guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its output will be accurate.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Altus Labs will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits, or opportunities arising from your use of Sarathi. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

15Changes to these terms

As Sarathi grows we may update these terms and change the “last updated” date. If a change materially affects you, we’ll let you know before it takes effect. Continuing to use Sarathi after a change means you accept the updated terms.

16Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes will be subject to the courts of India. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
